About

That's me with my great grandmother, Helen. I was somewhere in the neighborhood of two years old, and already covered from head to toe in all-purpose flour. I've basically lived in the kitchen since I could walk.

If there's one thing I can confidently say I'm good at, it's cooking. Whether cooking Sunday dinner for seven or Thanksgiving lunch for 40, I'm getting to do what I love, and there's no place I'm happier than in the kitchen. It's a place I love to try new things, and a place I'm not afraid to fail miserably. Because after the smoke clears - sometimes literally - I've learned something invaluable.

When browsing my recipes, you'll see lots of links included in each post. Some of the links are to other recipes, some are to definitions of uncommon terms, ingredients, etc. I hope you find these to be helpful tools.

I've also included a "tricks of the trade" tab that includes other uncommon kitchen vocabulary, abbreviations for measurements I use in my recipes, as well as a few other helpful tools you might need when cooking.

Please comment, ask questions, give me feedback, and let me know if you've had success with the recipes! Your participation in this blog is vital to its integrity and to my growth as a chef and as a writer!
